From October 14 to 31, take risks and be curious during SHOCKTOBER at TELUS Spark! Enjoy frightfully fun activities for the entire family as you explore the spooky science behind Halloween. Brew a colourful potion, stand under a mysterious mess or witness the spectacle of a pumpkin destruction. Plus, Monster Mash-Up is back on October 28 and 29 for the final weekend of SHOCKTOBER celebrations!

Visit Studio Bell over the Thanksgiving Weekend!
Share the love of music with your family at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, this Thanksgiving weekend, Oct. 7-9. Tour five floors of exhibitions that tell the story of music in Canada, including memorabilia and artifacts, and rock out with interactive activities. Make sure to check out new temporary exhibitions celebrating iconic Canadians, such as k.d. lang and Sarah McLachlan. Admission includes daily tours and Studio Bell’s famous Kimball Theatre Organ demo.
Heritage Park Historical Village
Celebrate an Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving on the Prairies!
This is the last weekend to enjoy the historical village at Heritage Park this season. Take in the flavours, aromas and sights of an old-fashioned Thanksgiving, with a delicious Thanksgiving meal and themed activities, pumpkin baking demonstrations, crafts, barn dance and more! Take a final spin on the antique midway, a trip around the Park on a thundering steam train or enjoy a relaxing tour on a horse-drawn wagon ride. Dine on a traditional Thanksgiving meal, served all weekend in the Wainwright Hotel from 11am-3pm, or reserve a table at the Selkirk Grille for a Sunday night Thanksgiving dinner.

Monthly Movie Nights & The Hangar Games
The Hangar Flight Museum runs a monthly movie night on the second Thursday of every month beginning at 7:00pm from October to May.
Brand new for this fall, is a monthly board game night partnering with Myth Games. The next board game night will be October 19. Play your favourite game (or something new) under the wings of the planes!
Slumber Party at Glenbow Museum

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Glenbow’s permanent exhibition, Mavericks: An Incorrigible History of Alberta and to celebrate, we’re hosting a special sleepover party! Kids 7-12 and their accompanying adults are invited to join us for after-hours fun and night time gallery exploration. Expect exclusive hands-on activities and a tour behind the scenes to see how and where our precious artifacts are stored. Plus: enjoy a catered dinner, late night snack, and sleep right in our dynamic 3rd floor gallery!
Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame
Try something new for Thanksgiving weekend!
Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s new exhibit features eight major national and international equestrian events in Canada in which horses play an integral role including the Calgary Stampede, Canadian Derby, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Unique artefacts on display include Tom Glass’ chuckwagon from the 1930s that he used during the last 15 years of his career and won four Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Championships, a 35 million year old prehistoric horse skeleton, along with feature videos of major equestrian event highlights, interviews with Margaret Southern and Ian Millar, and information about the health, nutrition, and therapy of horses.

Calaway Park wants to Thank You Calgary! Show your Calgary Co-op membership card on October 7 to 9, 2017 and receive admission for just $10 plus GST per person for up to 4 people. Your Calgary Co-op membership card must be shown. Admission includes unlimited rides, live stage shows, access to the Cinemagic 3D theatre and Haunted Hotel, and free parking. Please bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Calgary Community Kitchen. Open Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Monday (October 7 to 9) from 11am to 6pm.
