Join The Confluence for Talks & Tours throughout November
Métis Week, observed during the week of November 16 (Louis Riel Day), commemorates the rich culture, history and contributions of the Métis people in Alberta and across Canada. This year, Métis Week is celebrated November 15-22.
Throughout November, we invite you to learn more about the Métis people of Calgary by joining us for programs about their history and current experiences. Take a walking tour exploring how original Métis communities shaped many of Calgary’s iconic neighbourhoods, or gather around the fire and listen to stories from Métis Elders where the rivers meet.
Upcoming Métis Week Events at The Confluence:
- Métis Memories in the Landscape Tour: Explore the rich history and culture of the Métis people and learn how Métis communities shaped many neighbourhoods integral to Calgary’s identity.
- Métis Fireside Stories with Elders: Gather around the fire at The Confluence for a morning of fascinating stories and educational tales told by Métis Elders.
All events for Métis Week include admission to The Confluence Cultural Centre.
