BODY WORLDS: ANIMAL INSIDE OUT On until August 16, 2020
See the world’s most spectacular animals like never before! Travel on an anatomical safari exploring a variety of animals from goats to giraffes and octopuses to ostriches in BODY WORLDS: ANIMAL INSIDE OUT. This rarely seen perspective will guide visitors through skeletons, muscles, organs and circulatory systems of some of the world’s most spectacular animals. Stripping away nature’s skin to the bare flesh and bones, ANIMAL INSIDE OUT features more than 100 plastinates including translucent slices, blood vessel configurations, organ configurations and whole-body plastinates displaying the intricate biology and physiology of some of the world’s most spectacular creatures both mammals and in the aquatic realm. The animals on display are preserved through the anatomical specimen preservation process of Plastination, invented by BODY WORLDS creator and anatomist, Dr. Gunther von Hagens. No animals were harmed in the making of ANIMAL INSIDE OUT.
Itching to get back on the travel train?
We recognize that life as we know it has changed, and it may be a while until we can travel together again.
Take an adventure through the eyes of Canmore artist Dan Hudson and his multimedia artwork 360, a year-long cycle of observations presented simultaneously in 360 degrees.
This large scale artwork invites you to travel to Berlin with Dan as he became a visual anthropologist documenting the day to day life of Berlin inhabitants. In Medieval Europe, astronomical clocks were created to display patterns of the cosmos such as the sun moving through the zodiac star constellations over the course of a year. In this manner, the twelve films in 360 become a clock that displays an entire cosmological year at the same time.
This artwork catalogues a collection of everyday activities, including touch and travel. Spark invites you to take these in during these times when travel, proximity and touch are limited due to social distancing.
Experience the life‐saving superpowers and extraordinary bravery of some of the world’s most amazing dogs. In this inspiring true story, journey around the globe to meet remarkable dogs who save lives and discover the powerful bond they share with their human partners.
Follow ‘Halo’, a rookie puppy training to join one of the most elite disaster response teams in America. Meet ‘Henry’, an avalanche rescue expert in the mountains of British Columbia, ‘Reef’, a Newfoundland lifeguard with the Italian coastguard, ‘Ricochet’, a Californian surf legend helping people with special needs, and the Bloodhound brothers, ‘Tipper and Tony’, who are leading the fight to save endangered species in Africa.
As we discover the incredible abilities of dogs and the astonishing science behind their superpowers, we’ll never look at our best friends the same way again!
