Native Plants at the Confluence

The first day of summer is only days off and the lands at Fort Calgary are in bloom. Take a guided tour of the plant life thriving where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet — identify plants native to the area, learn how they can be used and listen to some stories about them.
Recommended for: adults and kids ages 10 and up
Meet the guide
Nicole Henbrey (she/her) is a talented storyteller, with a passion for sharing knowledge about the land. She is Tlingit/Southern Tutchone and is an experienced public speaker, educator, beader, and budding raven’s tail weaver born and raised in Calgary on Treaty 7 Territory. Her work is rooted in shifting the way in which we, as Canadians, speak about our shared histories and how we can use that moving forward as a society.
