Admission to this event includes an exclusive before-hours viewing opportunity of our Wild Canada zone with a side of polar bear facts from our Conservation Education staff and volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about polar bears\, what makes them so wonderful\, why they are endangered\, and of course\, get a chance to see the bears in our care before their day begins. You’ll get to hear all the up-to-date polar bear news at this event for all ages. \nAfterwards\, enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast with fresh fruit\, pancakes\, and more. SUMMARY:“A Sense of Place” Exhibit Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Our new temporary exhibition “A Sense of Place” brings together a vibrant collection of artworks by members of the Calgary Sketch & Painting Club alongside three featured works from the Calgary Public Art Collection. Through painting and drawing\, the exhibition explores the landscapes\, communities\, and personal connections that shape how we experience place.  \nThe Calgary Sketch and Painting Club was founded in 1909 and has been supporting and nurturing artists in the Calgary area ever since.   \nJoin us on June 16 from 6–8 pm for the exhibit opening reception and an evening of art\, conversation\, and community. The event will feature a cash bar\, complimentary appetizers\, and remarks from Historian & Adjunct Curator Kay Burns and members of the Calgary Sketch Club\, offering insight into the inspiration and stories behind the works on display.  \nGuests will have a chance to watch artists sketch and paint in a live demonstration.  \nAdmission is free\, and all are welcome.
