  • 10 am – 3:30 pm: Métis interpreters will be on-site at the historic Hunt House on the east bank of the Elbow River to share the rich history of Calgary’s oldest building, Métis culture, and more. Enjoy interactive activities and discover the stories that shaped this region. Stay tuned for more information about the program.

Preparing for the walk

We invite the community to participate in the 16th annual Walk for Reconciliation this National Indigenous Peoples Day. The walk starts at Harry Hays Building (220 4 Ave SE) and concludes at The Confluence (750 9th Ave SE).

We strongly encourage participants to read about why we walk, and the history of the residential school system in Canada so you can bring meaning and intention to this event.

Participants are welcome to bring blankets or portable chairs to sit on during the outdoor program. This event goes on rain or shine, so be sure to come prepared for the weather.

Parking in The Confluence lot is reserved for special guests, volunteers and staff this day, so we recommend taking transit, biking or using nearby street parking within downtown or Inglewood.
