New Exhibition Opens at The Military Museums: A Uniform Coat of Many Colours: Military Immigrants in Alberta

In partnership with the University of Calgary, the Military Museums presents a new exhibition – ‘A Uniform Coat of Many Colours: Military Immigrants in Alberta.’ The collection provides a comprehensive overview of the little-known topic of immigrants to Alberta who have served in their countries’ armed forces and paints a picture of how global conflict has shaped our regional demographics.

The exhibition explores and presents diverse stories of immigrants to Alberta who have undertaken military service in their countries of origin through the historical and contemporary scope, featuring first-person accounts, oral histories, art and artifacts. Over twenty different countries are featured in the exhibit including community representatives from Afghanistan, Hungary, South Vietnam, Colombia, Italy and many more.

The exhibition is open to the public from June 11 – 11 September 2022 in the University of Calgary Founders’ Gallery at The Military Museums, Calgary AB.
