But whoever said only mammals make great mamas, clearly hasn’t delved into the fascinating world of arachnids and insects. Take for instance, daddy long legs spiders, often overlooked for their delicate appearance. These arachnids break the stereotype by showcasing exemplary parental care. Unlike many other spider species where the mother might lay eggs and leave them to fend for themselves, daddy long legs spiders carry their spiderlings on their backs, and certain earwig moms even sacrifice themselves for their offspring – now that’s love!
